This is one of the most beautiful farms – the animals are treated with love and respect. Such an incredible and gorgeous farm. The farm store is clean and there’s such a variety. The food is always organic and delicious. You must visit!

Hands down best grocery store in the area. Excellent selection of local produce and meat as well as bulk foods and natural health/beauty department. Highly recommend!

I’ve been here many times, usually on a day trip to get lunch, and to take in the vibe of the community. The food is always outrageously good and the atmosphere tranquil. There are few places like this, where such cooperative values and commitment to high-quality organic food production are so intrinsically linked. This sort of symbiotic relationship between humanism and the environment is the antidote for corporate America. We need more places like Hawthorne Valley.

Move to Ghent, NY, and live only on Hawthorne Farm Store products

What can we say about this now legendary establishment? It’s *everything* you want in a local fresh healthy food and grocery store. A staple of the area for so long now. Raw milk. Fresh, biodynamically-grown vegetables and fruit. Wonderful baked goods and granolas. Every town in the world should have a store like this! They simply do everything right! We’re so glad HVF is so close to home for us!

Extreme integrity. This store offers some of the best food in the entire world. Beautiful, local biodynamic selection.

Came from Long Island in search of local organic farms and markets. This farm store had the best products. We were in need of raw milk, best hands down! The baked goods were amazing and so delicious. First time we were able to find baked organic goods with minimal ingredients and soy free. The hot food selection was awesome as well. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were very reasonable. Love this place and will be back soon.

Raw milk, top-notch sauerkraut, cheeses and a full line array of other organic, biodynamic and local products, this is SO much more than your average farm stand! Hawthorne Valley Farm’s flagship products can be found throughout NYC but if you’re ever up this way, it’s worth stopping by to see where the magic happens.
