Many of the delicious, organic breads, rolls, cookies, muffins, pastries, granolas, and other treats available inside our store are made on-site in our certified organic bakery. All of the flours, grains, nuts, seeds, and fruits used in our bakery’s products are organically or Biodynamically®-grown. For added freshness, our bakery grinds and sifts the wheat and rye on-site.  Nearly all products are baked fresh daily.

Berkshire Mountain Bakery, Housatonic, MA

In this European style bakery, traditional techniques rule the baking process and so most bread is naturally leavened with sourdough fermentation and hand shaped. The result is very digestible and delicious bread.

 

Camphill Bakery, Copake, NY

Camphill’s bakery is built around an image of the complete process: from grain grown to loaf offered, rather than production through assembly-line tasks. As many as 20 bakers work throughout the day to make bread, rolls, cookies, biscotti, granola and pasta for local delivery and farmers markets.

Camphill Bakery takes an active interest in collaborating with regional growers and producers toward a sustainable and diverse grain economy. As part of this effort, they have sourced more than half of our total grain from local organic or biodynamic sources.
